Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data The Waiting Trade ("we", "us") handles on this website (thewaitingtrade.com), on our YouTube channel, and in The Waiting Trade Publisher, the internal tool we use to publish videos through YouTube API Services.
1. Who we are
The Waiting Trade publishes short educational videos about past gold (XAU/USD) trades on YouTube, and runs this website. You can reach us at hello@thewaitingtrade.com.
2. This website
This is a static information site. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no forms and no comments.
- We do not set cookies and do not use local storage or similar technologies on your device.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, third-party scripts or third-party fonts.
- Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, page requested, time) to deliver and secure the site. Netlify handles these logs under its own privacy policy. We do not combine them with any other data.
- If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and delete the thread when it is no longer needed.
3. Our YouTube channel
Our videos are hosted on YouTube. When you watch, like, comment on or subscribe to our channel, YouTube (Google) collects and processes that data under the Google Privacy Policy. As the channel owner we see the aggregate statistics YouTube shows every creator (such as views, watch time and subscriber counts) and public comments. We do not receive the identity of viewers beyond what is public on YouTube.
4. YouTube API Services
The Waiting Trade Publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using The Waiting Trade Publisher, or any YouTube feature we provide, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses it
The Waiting Trade Publisher is an internal command-line tool. Only our own team uses it, on our own computer, signed in through Google OAuth with the Google account that manages our YouTube channel. It does not sign in visitors, viewers or any other users, and it has no public interface.
What it accesses and why
- Upload videos (
youtube.upload): to upload our own finished videos to our own channel, with their title, description, tags and visibility. - Read channel data (
youtube.readonly): to confirm which channel is signed in and to check the processing and privacy status of the videos we uploaded. - Read analytics (
yt-analytics.readonly): to read our own channel's reports, such as views, watch time and subscriber counts, for internal review.
It does not read, store or display data about any other YouTube account or channel, and it does not read the identity of our viewers.
What it stores
- The OAuth refresh token for our own channel, kept in an access-restricted configuration file on our team's computer. It is never shared or published.
- A local log of our own uploads: video ID, title, upload time and privacy status.
- Our own channel statistics, used for internal review.
Cookies and device information
The Waiting Trade Publisher does not place cookies on, or read information from, anyone's browser or device. Signing in happens on Google's own pages, under Google's terms.
Revoking access
The account owner can revoke The Waiting Trade Publisher's access at any time on the Google security settings page (myaccount.google.com, under third-party connections). After access is revoked the tool can no longer upload or read anything.
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share data obtained through YouTube API Services, or any other personal data, with anyone. We do not use it for advertising. Data is disclosed only if the law requires it.
6. Retention and deletion
- Statistics read through YouTube API Services are refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days.
- If access is revoked, we delete the stored token and any stored API data within 7 days.
- To ask us to delete data we hold, email hello@thewaitingtrade.com. We act on the request within 7 days.
7. Children
This website, our channel and our tool are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the effective date at the top.
